RemoteX TV Support
Use these steps to connect compatible Smart TVs on your local Wi-Fi network.
Basic setup
- Connect your iPhone and TV to the same Wi-Fi network.
- Open RemoteX TV and allow Local Network access when iOS asks.
- Wait for discovery. Some TVs can take 30 seconds or more to appear.
- Select your TV, approve or pair on the TV screen, then use the Remote tab.
Same-Wi-Fi troubleshooting
- Make sure VPN, guest Wi-Fi and client isolation are turned off.
- Restart the TV, router and app if discovery stalls.
- Keep the TV awake and connected to the network while pairing.
- If your router has separate 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz network names, put both devices on the same one.
Local Network permission
RemoteX TV needs iOS Local Network permission to discover and connect to TVs.
- Open iPhone Settings.
- Go to Privacy & Security, then Local Network.
- Turn on RemoteX TV.
- Return to the app and tap Rescan.
Android TV / Google TV pairing
- Select your Android TV or Google TV in RemoteX TV.
- The TV should show a pairing code.
- Enter the code in the app exactly as shown.
- After pairing, RemoteX TV saves credentials securely and reconnects automatically.
Samsung and LG approval
Samsung Tizen and LG webOS TVs may show an approval prompt instead of a numeric pairing code.
- Choose Allow or Accept on the TV when RemoteX TV asks to connect.
- If you deny access, open the TV’s external device or mobile app connection settings and remove the denied entry before trying again.
- Some TV features, including app launch, vary by model and software version.
Reconnect, rename or forget a TV
- If the app returns from the background, it will reconnect to the active saved TV when possible.
- Use the device picker to switch active TVs.
- Use the visible menu beside a saved TV to rename, pair again or forget it.
- Forgetting a TV removes it from RemoteX TV; pairing approval may be required again later.
